This role focuses on next-generation industrial innovation, requiring a deep understanding of the industrial value chain to generate differentiated investment ideas.

Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth research on the industrial technology sector, including industry structure, supply-demand dynamics, automation trends, robotics adoption cycles, and capital expenditure patterns across manufacturing and defense industries
Analyze company financials, valuation metrics, and competitive positioning across robotics, automation, aerospace/defense, industrial software, sensors, and advanced hardware sub-segments
Track major industry developments such as industrial AI/ML adoption, automation penetration in manufacturing, drone/UAV deployment, reshoring and supply-chain shifts, and global defense-spending trends
Collaborate closely with the portfolio management team to translate research insights into actionable investment ideas with clear catalysts, risk frameworks, and valuation views
Engage with management teams, suppliers, channel partners, integrators, and industry experts to gather proprietary insights and validate investment theses
Build and maintain models, databases, and thematic frameworks to monitor technology transitions and emerging opportunities across industrial automation and defense-tech ecosystems
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in industrial equity research, investment analysis, aerospace/defense research, automation/robotics, or related industry consulting is required
Demonstrated ability to independently develop investment theses, articulate key drivers, and communicate insights clearly in both written reports and live discussions
Solid understanding of industrial economics, robot/software architecture, automation workflows, manufacturing processes, and end-market exposures (e.g., AI-driven automation, logistics/warehousing, defense procurement, industrial IoT)
Strong financial modeling, scenario analysis, and data interpretation skills
Self-directed, intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment
Master's degree or higher in engineering, business, economics, robotics, or related technical fields; CFA or relevant certifications are a plus
Proficient in both spoken and written English and Mandarin
