Manager, Facilities - Universal Kids Resort

Responsibilities

Manages all aspects of the facilities and utilities maintenance program for all of UKR including planned, quick call, discretionary, and emergency repair work, as well as comprehensive asset life-cycle management. Develops and refines maintenance standards and maintains all OSHA and Universal Quality Standards. Ensures compliance with all Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) regulatory compliance and standards pertaining to the Annual Facility Permits and procedures. Ensures water quality program consistently meets standards and that UKR is in compliance with all relevant ordinates, permitting and regulatory requirements. Sets improvement goals for the department, provides clear direction to ensure goals are met, and communicates these objectives to the team
Secures reliable and cost-effective contracted services via scope development, competitive bidding, and contract oversight. Oversees the partnerships with third party vendors major repairs and maintenance efforts including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, restaurant equipment, pool, and other specialized maintenance by monitoring and providing direction regarding to all contractual obligations such as financial reporting, Guest service, show/product quality, operating hours, facility cleanliness, and safety
Manages team by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, career development, performance management, and recognition. Assigns tasks and monitors performance to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Builds a culture of safety and engagement with Team Members by ensuring Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) SOPs and relevant policies are followed. Monitors the operation to ensure safety and operational standards are consistently met and encourages a positive and safe work environment
Drives and executes plans for team that directly affect Team Member satisfaction (TSAT), Guest satisfaction (GSAT), and safety standards while utilizing existing tools to measure and monitor performance against targets. Develops appropriate action plans to achieve or exceed targets
Facilitates and maintains effective communication mechanisms throughout Technical Services and across UKR leadership for Guest and Team Member safety, show quality, and operational readiness. Leads seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives and special projects to optimize labor across Universal Kids Resort
Plans, prepares, and manages routine budgets for capital and expense projects. Routinely and regularly manages capital requests and execution of approved capital projects, ensuring priorities are regularly reviewed. Monitors overtime ensuring financial responsibility and labor optimization. Builds capital and expense plans as required
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities

Required

Strong experience in venue management and partnership with third-party vendors
Must have analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as business dictates
Consistent attendance is a job requirement
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required
7+ years of experience in construction, operations, or maintenance management of a large resort, hotel, or theme park with 2+ years of leadership experience required

Preferred

Maintenance Management certification and/or General Contractor license is preferred
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in management or technical discipline preferred
Experience within a seasonal or regional theme park is preferred
