Lead System Administrator

Responsibilities
Lead project teams for large IT project initiatives
Mentor and coach System Administrators on an informal basis
Define, review, and provide oversight for departmental documentation for software applications including cloud related architectures
Work with Project Managers, or serve as a Project Manager, and develop project scopes, estimates, milestones, and timelines
Implement, maintain, configure, and integrate F&G software to meet the organization’s requirements
Oversight of applications, including cloud applications and infrastructure
Define system performance and utilization reports
Lead the management and maintenance of the company’s virtualization environments, including how software applications interact with virtualization environments
Research, identify, and evaluate new software and services within the IT field
Provide technical assistance and mentoring to technical team members to increase skill sets and understanding of software, related systems, and architectural design
Direct activities of vendors, suppliers, distributors, and contract consultants
Maintain a good working knowledge of current industry standards relating to enterprise software applications and how they are installed, configured, and supported in an enterprise environment
Responsible for development and documentation of corporate policies and procedures as related to software systems, which includes device use and security
Provide fourth level service desk support beyond the first, second, and third level help desk expertise or security capabilities
Act as an escalation point for complex application support issues
Remain abreast of emerging and evolving technologies within enterprise software applications and packages to assist in setting strategic direction of the core service offerings for the firm
Work with the team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based software service solutions for the company
Support and migrate complex, multi-tier applications on cloud platforms
Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
Independently direct team as well as contribute individually to project and solution outcomes
Lead and initiate changes to improve software support of related business processes
Lead, support, and interact with various IT teams and LOBs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (preferred emphasis in computer science or MIS) or equivalent experience
8-9 years of experience in Software System Administration
Experience with Horizon View, ESXi, and server virtualization, including technical knowledge in creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting virtual environments
In-depth understanding and working knowledge of various versions of Microsoft 365, including experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
Experience with Salesforce, SharePoint, and ImageRight
In-depth understanding of DNS, E-Mail Routing, Email Tracking, SMTP / application Mail Relay, Disaster Recovery concepts - Single item, single mailbox, Exchange Server, Exchange Site
ADFS & SSO implementation and troubleshooting
Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, preferably AWS or Azure
Thorough knowledge of Active Directory Administration and Management including user, group, and GPO implementation
Accomplished in managing and controlling multiple projects and working within a team environment
Knowledge of ITIL and Industry best practices
Interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and business units
Organizational, communication, and time management skills
Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work in a team environment as well as develop and mentor less experienced team members
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously within a team environment
Strong technical documentation ability
Preferred
Experience working within an IT organization in insurance or financial services
Cloud Security Certification, and/or OpenStack Administrator Certification
Experience leading software engineers or leadership training
Experience working within an effective SOX/internal control environment
