Responsibilities
Assisting project engineers with transportation engineering or planning projects including fieldwork, design, analysis, preparation of presentations, graphics and other support tasks as needed
Assist with the analysis, assessment, and interpretation of data, conditions, and systems to plan and execute traffic signal retiming improvements and assist in the preparation of Traffic Signal/ITS plans
Perform transportation, traffic, or systems engineering work in the development of traffic signal timing, signal systems management, and operations Systems engineering analysis and reports under the direction of senior engineering staff
Assist in the preparation of Traffic Signal/ITS plans
Data analysis to support development and implementation strategies for improving arterial traffic flow and safety, and evaluating system performance
Some travel to conduct fieldwork
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or Master's Degree, Field of Study: Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning
Solid written and verbal communication/presentation skills
Self-starter with good motivational skills
Ability to work independently/as part of a traffic engineering team with a passion for traffic engineering and operations
Experience using Microstation, AutoCAD, Excel, and familiarity with Synchro
Ability to obtain EIT certification in the next 6 months
