Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring efficient use of center space
Prepares and manages time sheets for NAF and APF employees
Serves as USDA CACFP Food Service Monitor for the Child Development and Youth Center Programs
Assists the Assistant Director to ensure the facility is operated in a way to protect the safety and health of the children and staff
Responsible for ensuring staff, volunteers and custodians have required criminal history background checks following most recent CDC Inspection Checklist criteria and complete the required examinations required for employment
Assists in ensuring that NAF resources are properly handled and stored. Works closely with the CDC Director to ensure facility is maintained in a manner to protect the safety and health of the children

Required

U.S. Citizenship Required
Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
Must provide evidence of required immunizations and maintain current immunizations
Must satisfactorily complete a physical examination upon hire and every three years thereafter
Must be able to successfully complete all required background checks. Background investigation SF85 required
Must complete all required training requirements including but not limited to CPR, first aid, and food handler's certification
A qualified typist is required, must type a minimum of 40 WPM
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems
Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position, only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-04 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-05 level
Knowledge of Air Force and Child Development Center regulations, procedures, and processes
Knowledge of basic rules of grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation
Ability to gather, maintain and compile pertinent data accurately
Ability to work effectively with both adults and children
Ability to consistently communicate effectively orally, using courtesy and tact
Skills in planning and organizing work and meeting deadlines
Skill in typing; a qualified typist is required
Knowledge of automated and/or physical filing systems and procedures and the subject matter content of the materials being processed
Ability to locate, assemble, and compose information for routine reports, inquiries, and non-technical correspondence

Full/part-time employees occupying direct childcare positions are eligible for discounts IAW DAF AFSVC/CC Memo, 30 Sep 22; first child 100% / each additional child 25%. Other assigned CYP and FCC personnel are eligible for 25% discount.
