Manager, Quality Assurance

Responsibilities
Directs quality activities on a project and/or site, communicating with engineering, project management, procurement and fabrication/construction, and other project personnel to ensure QA goals and objectives are met
Develops a project/Site Quality Plan to cover all customer requirements to a level of detail necessary to assure integration within the Quality Assurance Program
Prepares project/site quality-related procedures to meet Code, jurisdictional, customer and internal requirements
Participate in Commercial Grade Dedication activities
Trains quality personnel assigned to the project
Liaise with customers, regulatory authorities, subcontractors and/or internal departments on matters related to quality
Represents the project/site during quality audits conducted by the customer, regulatory agencies and internal audits
Identifies quality problems, initiates non-conformance reports or corrective action requests and verifies implementation of dispositions
Provides work assignments to project/site quality personnel and prepares reports on the effectiveness of the project quality assurance program
Assists in ensuring satisfactory performance regarding the Aecon Nuclear Objectives
Ensure quality activities regarding fabrication and installation are planned and controlled
Supervision of all Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel assigned to the project and/or site
Maintain departmental costs within budget
External stakeholder interface will involve: meeting with customers, suppliers, jurisdictional authorities, unionized supervisors and employees or various disciplines. Interface with Senior Management, Project and Shop Management
Qualification
Required
A graduate of a four-year engineering program from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of Education, technical training and experience
Minimum 7-10 years' experience in quality assurance related to the Nuclear Industry
Management/Leadership experience and training
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Computer literate in MS Office, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc
Excellent understanding of the following codes and standards: 10 CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR Part 21, AWS, AISC, ACI, ASME NQA-1
Due to the nature of work conducted by Aecon, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment
Preferred
Previous working experience with 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR Part 21 would be an asset
ASME NQA-1 Nuclear Lead Auditor Certification would be an asset
