Responsibilities
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions
Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software
Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems
Ensures software standards are met
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Science with 5+ years of software development experience; 3 years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree for Level 3 (Principal)
Bachelor's degree in Science with 8+ years of software development experience; 6 years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree for Level 4 (Sr. Principal)
Experience developing on teams using Agile methodology, process, and tools
Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting in Java
Familiarity with Kubernetes
Experience using object-oriented design and Micro service architecture
Experience with publisher/subscriber architectures
Must have current Top Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application
Preferred
Experience with REST architecture
Experience with GEMS
Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting distributed systems
Experience as a full-stack developer
Experience with software development on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Experience with software system integration, testing, and deployment
