Quality Engineer Level II
Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM specializing in precision engineering and MRO solutions. They are seeking a Quality Engineer Level II to ensure compliance of procured aerospace products, implement quality metrics, and lead quality improvement initiatives while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities
Sustain a high level of ethics while conducting company business in accordance with the company’s code of ethics and polices inclusive of the ASQ code of ethics
Applies Strategic and Critical thinking on a continual basis as it applies to Quality Management Systems and Quality of product, both for Suppliers and the Company
Perform review of Customer Contracts/Purchase Order Quality flow down requirements and Perform review of Supplier Purchase Orders
Communicate, Lead and Coach inner company departments regarding Quality Engineering activities/developments and Quality objectives
Communicate Company Quality Management program requirements to process owners, interested parties and customers
Develop and Implements Company Quality procedures
Maintain Company Performance Metrics and Scorecards
Develop strategies in association with Production and Engineering to identify Risks associated with performance of production, assembly and test processes
Develop and implement proactive strategies in association with Production, Engineering and QA teams regarding company quality improvement including recommending changes to quality programs/systems
Conduct Company audits to assess technical/process capabilities for existing and potential programs, with subsequent recommendations to Supply Chain Management/Purchasing and the Company
Develop and manage Nonconformance’s, MRB activities and Corrective Actions. Initiate corrective action with internal departments to prevent product nonconformance re-occurrence
Provide leadership, technical training and act as a mentor for Quality Engineers and Junior/Associate Quality Engineers
Provide technical assistance and training to Inspection personnel regarding mechanical inspection techniques and other product evaluation methods as needed
Perform other tasks as may be assigned by management
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in manufacturing/mechanical engineering from an accredited university
A minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in aerospace products and processes in a role for Supplier Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering
Demonstrate expertise in Quality Engineering principles and regulatory administration with 7-10 years relevant experience
FAA Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 14 Part 21, Certification Procedures for Products and Parts
AS9100, ISO 9001 and ISO 9000 Quality Management System standards
AS9102 First Article Inspection. DISCUS/Net Inspect
Root Cause and Corrective Action Investigation e.g. Apollo Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, Five Whys, Ishikawa (Fishbone) Diagram, and Problem-Solving Methodologies/Techniques e.g. 8D, DMAIC
