Project Scientist II

Responsibilities
Performs complex assignments by generating and evaluating experimental data, preparing data summaries, analyzing technical against quality objectives
Analyzes and interprets data collected. Prepares technical reports and makes presentations to client, both formal and informal
Troubleshoots complex testing processes when expected results are not obtained
Assists lower level staff in resolving analysis problems
Conducts and/or leads small technical projects or phases of technical projects
May provide direction to and coordinate the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects within time and budget constraints
Assists with proposal efforts. May prepare technical sections of proposals
Builds relationships with internal and external clients and presents research results
Communicates with client with regard to the schedule and quality of deliverables
Contributes to IR&D studies. Develops innovative testing and/or analysis methods to improve the quality of results and/or or efficiency
Works on and/or leads projects involving innovative methods or applications
Identifies and reports IP opportunities
Supports business development efforts led by others and secures follow-on work
May assist with the coordination of and participation in Battelle-sponsored conferences
May participate in scientific conferences, peer review panels, and increases company visibility through publications
Oversees, mentors and trains lower-level staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field with 5 years of experience or master's degree in related field with 2 years of experience or PhD; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field
