They are seeking a Vice President for Advancement to lead development and alumni engagement efforts, collaborate with college leadership on fundraising strategies, and oversee a team dedicated to enhancing the college's mission.

Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of development and alum engagement
Partner with Smith’s president to design and lead the college’s next comprehensive campaign
Serve as the college’s chief strategist and counselor on philanthropy and alum engagement
Lead an experienced and dedicated advancement organization
Serve as a visible ambassador to Smith’s extraordinary alum community
Strengthen relationships that connect personal legacy to institutional purpose
Develop fundraising strategies and respond to emerging opportunities
Develop and lead a talented team of approximately 75 advancement professionals
Cultivate meaningful relationships with volunteer leaders, board members, and the college’s community of more than 54,000 alums
Optimize the Salesforce CRM platform for data-driven decision making
Create innovative engagement strategies that connect alums across all generations to support fundraising priorities including financial aid, faculty excellence, and campus infrastructure
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree is required
Proven fundraising expertise
Deep commitment to the liberal arts, women's education, and the values that define Smith
Strategic vision and operational excellence
Ability to inspire diverse constituencies around a shared mission
Collegial and trusted leadership
Ability to effectively manage an extensive administrative enterprise
Ability to promote and embody the values and mission of the college
Ability to inspire and energize supporters
Ability to collaborate effectively with other senior leaders
Ability to represent Smith, its academic programs, and its educational mission to internal and external constituencies
Leadership ability to mobilize and align staff and volunteers
Intellectual and personal energy to organize and sustain a multiyear campaign
Sophistication in using data and analytics to inform strategy, measure progress, and report results
Preferred
Experience in a leadership role in a successful comprehensive campaign is highly preferred
Fundraising leadership experience in higher education is preferred but not required
