Visual Information Specialist (Exhibits)
USAJOBS is seeking a Visual Information Specialist (Exhibits) to join the Graphics and Presentations Division at the Pentagon. The role involves managing the acquisition, storage, and display of exhibits and works of art that are significant to the Department of Defense.

Responsibilities
Assists the GPD Division Chief, OSD Exhibits Program Manager, by providing guidance, technical expertise, and recommendations on OSD Exhibit Program's policies, goals, processes, and initiatives
Assists in the placement of art objects in exhibit areas, the installation of major exhibitions and records movement of artwork and artifacts using an artwork tracking system
Supports the GPD Division Chief on planning for and designing new exhibits and displays for the Pentagon Reservation
Provides oversight and performs maintenance on all OSD-owned exhibits on the Pentagon Reservation
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship is required
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Required to participate in the direct deposit program
This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
This position is subject to the DoD Priority Placement Program
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance
This position may require the incumbent to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays and/or overtime
This position may require occasional travel away from the normal duty station via military or commercial aircraft
Education cannot be substituted for experience

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

Basic Requirement: Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis
Specialized Experience: Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations
