They are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for the development and refinement of product prototypes and initial production builds, ensuring high standards in manufacturability and quality.
Responsibilities
Prototype and product builds: Lead and participate directly in the assembly of prototypes and low-volume production products, performing hands-on work with tools and machinery
Process development and tooling: Design and create manufacturing aids, jigs, and fixtures to support the assembly and build process
Shop floor support: Provide direct, daily technical support to technicians and assembly line personnel, troubleshooting build problems and implementing immediate corrective actions
Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Work closely with the design engineering team to ensure components are easily and efficiently assembled. Provide hands-on feedback on product design and suggest improvements based on physical build experience
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed, easy-to-follow build instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions for production staff based on practical experience
Root-cause analysis: Investigate build failures and quality issues by hands-on inspection and testing. Use methodologies such as 5 Whys to determine and address the root cause of production problems
Equipment installation and testing: Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of new or modified manufacturing equipment, ensuring it meets build requirements
Supplier collaboration: Work with suppliers and vendors to confirm part quality, assess components, and troubleshoot any issues related to materials or parts
