Production Engineering Intern
CalPortland is seeking a summer intern for the Oro Grande cement plant, providing an opportunity for students interested in Process/Automation Engineering. The intern will assist in various engineering tasks and projects while gaining exposure to the cement industry.
Responsibilities
Assist in Gyp/Urea testing and record-keeping
Assist in monthly Process Performance report data gathering
Assist Automation team as required
Assist in coal mine audit
Complete Safety and MSHA training and any other site/job specific required training
Carry-out and practice all Safety training and Company policies in the CalPortland workplace
Additional work with other engineering disciplines
Assist in routine housekeeping and maintenance of the facilities
Learn about other CalPortland departments and interface as required
Attend summer intern event at corporate headquarters in Las Vegas, NV
Perform plant tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Process or Automation Engineering
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good attendance and punctual
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehicles
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing
Preferred
Experience with equipment management software
Prior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry
