Responsibilities

Conducting comprehensive case analysis and research to assess litigation matters and threats, enabling strategic decision-making that aligns with organizational objectives

Coordinating communications between outside counsel and the Company’s in-house legal organization and Company senior management and employees

Participating in the preparation or depositions of corporate representatives and current/former Company employees

Overseeing the Company’s relationships with its retained experts and third party vendors for Litigation matters

Collecting and reviewing documents as part of the Company’s litigation risk assessment

Liaising with opposing counsel on litigation matters, including settlement negotiations

Coordinating the Company’s response, along with Consumer Affairs, to significant consumer product complaints

Attending court conferences and hearings as needed

Drafting or overseeing the drafting of legal documents, briefs, and pleadings, and representing the company in court or other settings, articulating legal strategies and positions persuasively

Assisting with the preparation of discovery responses

Counseling the business and assisting with risk assessments relating to marketing and advertising campaigns

Minimizing legal exposure through training, counseling, and pre-litigation risk mitigation measures

Conducting legal research

Using tools and technology to ensure compliance with records retention and discovery obligations

Overseeing and managing budgets for litigation matters

Using data to drive informed decision-making
