Engineer II, Construction Electrical

The Construction Electrical Engineer II will plan and execute procedures, provide technical support, and coordinate construction and commissioning activities for Combined Cycle Gas Turbine projects.

Responsibilities
Coordinate internally with site managers, suppliers, and engineering teams to resolve project issues
Travel to domestic and international project sites up to 20% annually as required
Manage moderately complex site issues independently, including construction deviations and supplier clarifications
Plan and coordinate construction support activities for assigned systems, ensuring alignment with the overall project schedule
Observe and enforce construction practices in compliance with federal, state, and local codes, industry standards, company procedures, and contractual requirements
Gather and review approved documents and data to support the successful completion of construction activities and requirements
Study and interpret project specifications, procedures, and relevant portions of the contract
Create erection and commissioning procedures to support Gas Turbine and auxiliary system installation, as well as other assigned areas
Promote and adhere to safe work practices at all times
Manage technical tasks under limited supervision of the Engineering Manager
Provide timely solutions for Project Action Requests (PAR), including tracking and coordinating with quality, project/process/design engineering, suppliers, Field TFAs, and supply chain
Review and verify engineering drawings for completeness, detail, and accuracy. Check vendor drawings and ensure coordination with company documents
Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes trust, communication, innovation, and teamwork
Coordinate with Mitsubishi Power site teams, suppliers, quality teams, and contractors to ensure proper installation and commissioning of power plant electrical systems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering from an accredited college or university and at least five (5) years of experience with Gas Turbines; or seven (7) years of related experience with Gas Turbines
Familiarity with Combined Cycle Power Plant equipment is required
Strong understanding of power plant systems and equipment, including pumps, condensers, cooling towers, rotating equipment, turbines, material handling, water treatment, valves, and heat exchangers
Preferred
Experience with ISO procedures and OSHA safety standards preferred
International experience desirable
