Quality Engineer - Associate 2nd Shift
Jacobs is involved in launching people to the Moon and Mars, providing overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. The Quality Engineer - Associate will be responsible for reviewing work authorization documents, managing non-conformances, contributing to design reviews, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities
Reviews work authorization documents to ensure proper application of inspection requirements
Obtain/maintain MR/MRB certification and support technical assessment of nonconforming products
Initiate, follow-up, and ensure closure of non-conformances
Contribute technically to Design/Project Reviews, V&V assessments, and Technical Boards
Participate in inspections and investigations with guidance from senior team members
Creates, updates, and validates Acceptance Data Packs
Develops sampling plans
Create systems and methods to measure processes and procedures
Establish/assess quality performance criteria in the execution of Program requirements
Develop/establish/maintain processes and metrics that support contract and AS9100 (latest rev.) requirements
Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, making recommendations
Present and communicate data analysis
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
Contributes to team effort by mentoring team members and documenting quality processes
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution, at least 4 years of experience
Requires experience in the area of Quality or other technical role
Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills required
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment
Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision
Must be able to coordinate work between multiple project disciplines
Experience with manufacturing or operations a plus
Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, and outlook
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting
Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary
Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment
Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing
Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures
Must be able to work in tight confined space areas
All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards
Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex
Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site
Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility
Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance
Must be dependable and punctual
Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule
If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required
Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills
Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives
Government security clearance may be required in the future
Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel
Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements Florida driver's license
Must pass a federal background investigation
Must comply with all 'drug free workplace' requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions
Preferred
Experience with manufacturing or operations a plus
