Responsibilities

Performs general assembly operations under direct supervision of the GL, including, but not limited to, printed wire board assembly, conformal coating, potting, ultrasonic cleaning, coil winding, evac & backfill, component forming, wire wrapping, and painting as required by program or process
Performs intricate and specialized assemblies including micro-precision assemblies, clock escapements, electro-mechanical, and disc assemblies as required by program or process
Conducts in-process testing, such as bench and leak testing
Setup and adjustment of production tools and equipment, including but not limited to, air presses, staking tools, and precision measuring instruments
Works from blueprints, assembly drawings, routing sheets, mil specs, verbal instructions, written process descriptions and visual work instructions
Assist engineering in developing verbal, written, and visual work instructions
Attain security clearance and maintain certifications as required by programs or process such as ESD, explosive handling, explosive lead install, molykote, brazing, D17.1 welding, and soldering (IPC J-STD-001) including general, wire, printed wire board, wave, induction, surface mount, and critical disk head soldering as required
Basic knowledge of computers and associated software such as word processing and spreadsheet applications as required
Capabilities shall include documenting and recording the results of completed testing and the rework of products
Assess the level of rework and assist in determining the cause of component, subassembly, or system failures
Take appropriate action to rework components and ensure proper operation of equipment
Make recommendations regarding modification of assembly processes
Demonstrate the capability for using Standard Measuring Equipment (SME)
Work with engineering personnel in process optimization studies and tooling improvements
Support company initiatives including ISO 9000 and Statistical Process Control (SPC) ensuring continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and products
Assist in guiding, directing, and training employees in various assembly operations as needed or directed
Remain flexible and willing to work in various work cells depending on company need
Report unusual circumstances or conditions to supervisor as required

Required

High School or Equivalent
+1 year and up to/including 3 years of PCB board, hand tools, soldering and assembly (electronic and mechanical) experience in a manufacturing environment
Basic knowledge of computers and associated software such as word processing and spreadsheet applications as required
