Entry-Level Structural Engineer - Advanced Facilities ELE - Portland, OR

Responsibilities
Work on projects including the design of new structures as well as existing structural upgrades
Assist in the performance of structural analysis and design for projects
Perform increasingly complex calculations and analysis as the structural design is developed
Work with Designers to get the structural requirements communicated on paper and in the model
Develop a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering
Gain experience in multiple subject areas and learn how Structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines
Develop understanding of principles of analysis and design of vertical and lateral structural systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards
Manage own workload and take ownership of your portion of the structural scope
Meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements
Determine what is needed to meet project and client needs, recognizing when help is needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, with a clear emphasis on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Excellent communication (both written and verbal), problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
This position is considered project site/hybrid and may require you to work in the local office, at a project site, or from your home (within approximately 50 miles of site)
Internet service with a MINIMUM speed of 25Mbps download/10Mbps upload as required to effectively meet project performance requirements (higher internet speed is recommended)

Preferred
MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
Previous relevant internship experience in Structural Engineering, preferably with experience analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
Experience with STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam
Familiarity with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
