Responsibilities
Conceives, plans, and executes projects working either alone or in collaboration with others to address the needs of the business units or corporate centers. Takes a lead role in collaborative effort to solve complex problems while requiring novel approaches that leverage and/or further advanced engineering research in metallurgy and materials science. (40%)
Interacts proactively with product development, sales, marketing, and manufacturing. Leads activities with outside vendors and suppliers to accomplish project goals. (30%)
Provides guidance and advice to management to change direction in an existing program or project as warranted by scientific or technological development. (10%)
Acts as a mentor to other associates, helping them to develop excellent technical, problem solving, and leadership skills. (10%)
Serves as a technical expert for the company in the development and application of advanced materials and associated processing technologies. (10%)
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Metallurgy, Materials Science or similar field and 24 months of experience in a Materials Engineer or similar position
Experience must include expertise in corrosion testing and materials characterization using SEM-EDS and XRD
