Domtar is a leading producer of pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and wood products. The Shift Team Leader - Dryer will lead and supervise one of four shifts for operations and maintenance at the Coosa mill, ensuring goals are met in safety, environmental, quality, production, and cost compliance.

Responsibilities

Provide shift leadership and coordination with select departments

Understand the key operating parameters that affect the mill’s ability to achieve Safety, Environmental and Quality objectives

Provide incident investigation and reporting for all incidents including Safety and Environmental

Interface with Maintenance Coordinators and operations on scheduling priorities

Coordinate work assignments on daily maintenance schedules for assigned shift maintenance personnel

Distribute job packages, review feedback forms and documentation for completeness and return completed packages to Planners

Secure parts and provide leadership during emergency situations

Ensure that appropriate feedback and information is gathered on ALL emergency work

Write work requests as needed

Attend daily planning and weekly shutdown meetings when on days

Provide maintenance coordination activities during peak times

Fills in for Sr. Shift team leader when needed

Required

Minimum of 5 years pulp/paper manufacturing experience or Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Self-motivated work ethic with strong attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple assignments and adjust to rapidly changing priorities
