They are seeking a R & D Laboratory Intern to construct and execute lab-scale experimental designs, test products, and analyze data, while being mentored by a senior-level onsite Scientist.

Responsibilities

Construct and execute lab-scale experimental designs and plans to synthesize prototypes and test for feasibility in application, utilizing the Scientific Method

Test/characterize products, analyze data statistically for meaning and conclusions from hypotheses

Experience with precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), and inorganic precipitation reactions in general

Identify improvement opportunities to help meet product, process, and/or applications requirements

The intern will have a senior-level onsite Scientist as a mentor

Understands and/or actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving

Required

Junior, senior or graduate student attending a university studying a scientific field such as chemistry or chemical engineering, material science, mineral processing

Laboratory experience that demonstrates good, safe laboratory practices combined with technical expertise in surface functionalization of inorganic synthesized minerals

Directly related graduate research experience is desired
