Quality Assurance Supervisor

Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of Quality Inspectors to help deliver high-quality aerospace products on time and assure product quality meets Firefly acceptable standards
Support assigned shifts by coordinating resources, resolving issues, and ensuring alignment with daily and long-term production objectives
Manage and document effective shift handovers to ensure seamless communication, production continuity, and accountability between shifts
Conduct daily pre-shift readiness checks and support end-of-shift reviews to ensure smooth transition to incoming shifts
Provide coverage and leadership on nights and weekends as required to support company objectives and production schedules
Maintain floor presence to monitor operations, verify adherence to work instructions, and support problem resolution. Act as a hands-on leader and understand the Inspection processes
Review work completed vs. planned; disseminate recovery plans for shortfalls
Communicate shift accomplishments and risks to leadership through daily reports and updates
Ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements and detailed work instructions
Approve PTO and timecards; manage Inspector schedules to support production objectives
Develop and maintain a skills matrix; propose staffing and training needs based on data-driven assessments or gaps in existing staffing
Promote and enforce a culture of safety; implement and sustain improvements to shop safety practices
Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve production issues and support program objectives
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase efficiency
Hold team members accountable to company policies and standards; provide coaching, feedback, and corrective actions when necessary
Apply 5S workplace organization & follow the Lean initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
2+ years of leadership experience in an aerospace, military, or manufacturing environment
5+ years of experience in a hands-on manufacturing or quality inspection role
Experience developing and improving manufacturing processes and work instructions
Familiarity with various manufacturing processes (machining, welding, cleaning, integration, testing, etc)
Demonstrated ability to read technical information, follow technical instructions, and understand: technical drawings, specifications, GD&T, and related quality control documentation and standards
Experience with standards and/or equivalent quality, military, or government standards in the aerospace industry
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
Flexibility regarding workflow and process
Excellent organization skills. Willingness to work with a team, share expertise, and follow instructions to accomplish established goals
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems
Able to provide on-site support for your assigned shift, including, nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in standing, bending, and kneeling positions for extended periods
Preferred
5+ years of experience leading teams in a high-rate aerospace or space production environment
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
Associate degree or higher in quality, engineering, or related technical discipline
Demonstrated experience applying quality assurance principles, methods, and processes - including inspection techniques, equipment, and tools used in quality control
Comprehensive understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and specifications
Demonstrated competency in structures/composites, electrical/avionics, and fluids/propulsion disciplines
Full capability to read and understand blueprints, drawings GD&T, and Model-Based Definitions
Demonstrated experience with application of aerospace quality standards, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001
A&P License
IPC Certification (IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-620)
