Responsibilities

Ownership of a test engine or asset as part of the validation process, developing the test mission purpose and requirements, ensuring all necessary hardware required for successful test mission completion is installed, and resolving any engine-level issues during pre-test build and test execution
Ensuring product or technology verification requirements can be successfully demonstrated through test and data analysis
Providing forward-looking strategy for product validation and technology development to drive competitive advantage
Interacting with qualification authorities to ensure product qualifications are met for non-traditional propulsion systems
Assisting proposal efforts in response to RFI, RFP, and RFQs for both internal and external customers
Executing required action plans needed to resolve system-level issues
Executing the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Providing timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participating on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and process improvements
Participating as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Assuring proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Working with a variety of engineering organizations and contributing to the development of the engine systems and designs
Providing the opportunity to understand and apply detailed physics to analysis of engine components

Required

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited University or College
8-10 years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position
5+ years of relevant test experience
Experience with both military and commercial engines desired
Experience leading teams
Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
Ability to travel out of state to cover engine test for a minimum of 15% annually
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
Located in Cincinnati, or willing to relocate

Preferred

Current secret clearance desired
Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 8+ years of relevant test experience
Current Secret US security clearance
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across the matrix
Exposure to aviation engine design or certification requirements
Experience with GE NPI Tollgate and Military Qualification processes
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to guide and influence others
Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work
Exposure to both military and commercial engine design requirements
Problem analysis and resolution skills
Systems thinking
