Responsibilities

Collaborate with pipeline design experts to develop and review design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Conduct field inspections and condition assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and regulations
Work on projects related to pipeline failure analysis and pipeline forensics analysis
Work on projects from planning through design and construction services, for new and rehabilitation pipe designs
Experience with pressure pipe design
Experience with pipe stress analysis
Provide technical guidance to AECOM project teams and mentoring junior level staff
Technical writing, reviewing, and providing clear, concise input to investigations, memorandums, or engineering reports and documentations
Stay current on industry trends and advancements in pipeline design and engineering
Participation in AWWA and/or other relevant organizations

Required

BS in Civil, Geotechnical or Structural Engineering, and 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency or experience and/or education
Licensed PE or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
8 years of project experience in design of municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater pipeline design, analysis, installation, and inspection
Previous experience in Mathcad / MATLAB
Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
Previous experience working with pipeline design codes, standards, and regulations
Strong ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings

Preferred

Understanding of construction methods, such as open-cut and trenchless (micro tunneling, jack and bore, etc.) for sewer and water infrastructure
12 years of project experience in design of municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater pipeline design, analysis, installation, and inspection
Master's Degree
Understanding of water and storm and sanitary sewer rehabilitation
Past experience with pipeline condition assessment and analysis
Finite element analysis experience
Demonstrated ability to successfully work in diverse teams
