Unit Growth Executive
Connecticut Rivers Council, Scouting America is seeking a Unit Growth Executive who will serve as a community organizer and neighborhood expert to engage families and organizations in the Scouting program. The role involves growing Scouting programs within a designated area, focusing on membership growth, program support, marketing, and ensuring compliance with national standards.

Responsibilities
Sales: Meet and know the schools, churches, and organizations in the assigned territory. Know them by name and know their dreams and challenges
Membership Growth: Dramatically grow the number of youth and families in Scouting. Organize Packs and Troops
Program Support & Delivery: Work closely with the Volunteer Training Committee and Activity Committee to ensure new leaders are trained and new families have access to fun experiences
Marketing & Community Engagement: Promote Scouting programs by collaborating with the Marketing team for media support, social media outreach, and event promotions. Build relationships with schools, organizations, and the general community to increase awareness and participation
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all programs adhere to national Scouting standards, including trained staff, safe program equipment, and sufficient facilities for events
Technology & Administrative Support: Utilize and adapt to technology platforms for program management, communication, and reporting. Maintain accurate records and ensure timely communication with volunteers and stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Must be willing to accept and meet Scouting America's leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (transcript required for employment)
Must be 21 years of age or older
Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks
A strong background in marketing, fundraising, sales, or program development is highly desired
Excellent public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage with diverse audiences and develop strong community partnerships
Self-motivated with excellent time management, organizational, and leadership skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and adaptable to new software tools such as Blackpug, My.Scouting, Canva, and Mailchimp
Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary to support program needs
Willingness to travel for training at least once a year for one to two weeks
Preferred
Nonprofit experience or a Scouting background is a plus, but not required
Fluent in Vietnamese or Spanish is strongly preferred
