Traveling Chiller Controls Technician

Responsibilities

Retrofit existing BAS or pneumatic systems to modern automation platforms, including working on control systems for:
Chillers
Air Handlers
Cooling Towers
Variable Air Volume (VAV) units
Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
Other related HVAC components
Program, install, integrate, and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Analyze and interpret BAS data to identify performance or communication issues
Collaborate with engineering teams and site personnel to ensure seamless retrofits with minimal disruption to operations

Required

Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing: Chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and pumps
Expertise in servicing chiller systems and troubleshooting mechanical performance issues
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical/electrical schematics
Strong working knowledge of: HVAC mechanical systems including Chillers, VAVs, VFDs, Pumps, and Cooling Towers
HVAC system design, operation, and troubleshooting
Demonstrated experience working in large facilities (e.g., universities, schools, office buildings)
High school diploma or GED required

Preferred

Trade or technical school coursework highly desirable
Technical certifications are preferred but not mandatory
Experience with installation or maintenance of Building Automation Systems preferred
Familiarity with the Niagara Framework®, N4 certification, or BACnet protocol is a plus
