Responsibilities
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and additional litigation documents
Engage with in-house clients, experts, third-party administrators, opposing counsel, and witnesses
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on substantive legal issues
Participate in client interviews, witness preparation, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation
Attend court hearings and assist in trial proceedings as appropriate
Collaborate closely with senior attorneys and partners throughout all stages of litigation, including appeals and enforcement of judgments
Assist in defending complex civil litigation matters involving:
Government tort liability and public entity defense
Civil rights and constitutional claims (including excessive force and wrongful arrest)
Qualification
Required
3-5 years of experience in litigation
Excellent writing, research and analytical skills
Ability to draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and additional litigation documents
Engage with in-house clients, experts, third-party administrators, opposing counsel, and witnesses
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on substantive legal issues
Participate in client interviews, witness preparation, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation
