1st Shift Quality Inspector
Karman Space & Defense provides concept-to-production solutions for mission-critical systems on spacecraft and defense systems. They are seeking a Quality Inspector who will review, verify, analyze, inspect, and evaluate products to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, or stability samples
Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release
Perform visual inspections of finished and unfinished products
Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures; including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms
Calibrate, validate, or maintain laboratory equipment
Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions
Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions
Receive and inspect raw materials
Investigate or report questionable test results
Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained
Identify quality problems and recommend solutions
Perform other duties as requested by the quality control manager
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Excellent oral and written comprehension
Great problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of basic mathematics that include algebra and geometry
A broad understanding of engineering principles
Knowledge of using and calibrating measurement tools such as height gages and calipers
Well versed in ISO: 9000 and AS9100
Ability to read, speak and write in English
1-2 years of experience preferred
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, certain positions may require applicants to be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Constant standing/walking/sitting for at least 8 hours
Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, minimum 35 lbs
Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less. Corrective lenses may be worn to fulfill requirement
Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required
Constant holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s)
Occasional extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level and below shoulder level
Preferred
1-2 years of experience preferred
Aerospace background is a plus
Experience with composite and metallic structures is a plus
