Intern, R&D Graduate Summer - Science of Extreme Environments Research & Innovation (SEERI) Program, Onsite
Sandia National Laboratories is the nation’s premier science and engineering lab for national security and technology innovation. The R&D Graduate Intern will support operations in various nuclear facilities and assist in technical assignments related to reactor operations and radiation effects experiments.

Responsibilities
Perform analytical analysis in support of irradiation effects and nuclear core performance
Provide Research and Development support in reactor operations, radiation effects experiments, radiation dosimetry, nuclear criticality, and critical assembly technical design
Provide Research and Development support in accelerator operations, modeling accelerator and/or diode performance for design development, radiation effects experiments with accelerators, and radiation dosimetry
Provide Research and Development support for configuration management of key nuclear safety systems and experimental equipment in utilized in reactor experiments, reactor operations, engineering, and maintenance
Qualification
Required
Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship
Preferred
BS in engineering (nuclear, electrical, mechanical), health physics, or math discipline
