2026 Management Development Program - Institutional Client Services, Conventional Debt and Specialized Agency Solutions
M&T Bank is seeking candidates for their Management Development Program, designed for recent college graduates. Participants will engage in a year-long training program that includes core training, on-the-job training, and group projects to develop skills in banking, project management, and leadership.

Responsibilities
Develop and produce moderately complex ad-hoc departmental reports and spreadsheets, including but not limited to, project or product strategy analysis, profitability, budgeting, historical reporting and workflow statistical and financial analysis in support of the Institutional Services business segment
Research and gather business, process, and/or financial information to support these activities. Complete ad-hoc analyses to support business decisions. Provide feedback to management regarding results and make recommendations on findings to senior team members
Develop a solid understanding of the Institutional Services business segment and its functions, processes and operations. Remain current on business and market trends that may affect the business/department
Participate and/or manage in planning and implementing new projects, products, programs and plans within IS CDSAS to achieve short and long-term business objectives; assist in coordinating the design and execution of various projects for the promotion and maintenance of the business. Participate in developing system/process enhancement plans
May be involved, to some extent, in setting policy or developing and overseeing the implementation of procedures or controls related to compliance requirements within the overall business processes, directly or indirectly monitoring functions that, on a daily basis, ensure procedures and controls are functioning as designed, developing training for business line personnel regarding procedures and controls designed to ensure compliance with laws and/or regulations, completing or overseeing embedded compliance self-testing and/or managing examinations or audits involving regulatory matters and any resultant corrective actions
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
Complete other related duties as assigned
Participate in and complete a one-year long, non-rotational training program while creating and adding value to assigned department. Receive job specific training, general training in banking, communication and leadership, and personalized coaching and feedback. Performance measures may include several objective test scores, peer and sponsor feedback from group projects, facilitator feedback, Leadership Development Manager-MDP feedback, Department Manager feedback, final assessment score, and year-end performance appraisal from Department Manager and Leadership Development Manager-MDP
Core Training - Participate in ten weeks of training throughout the one-year assignment to learn banking, basic financial skills, technical skills, and leadership/interpersonal skills. Develop a solid understanding of banking functions, processes, and operations
Group Projects - Participate in two group project assignments, working with a team of their peers to build relationships within their teams as well as with project sponsors, internal and external contacts, and senior management. Teams make a presentation to senior management at the conclusion of each project providing recommendations and potential project solutions
On-the-Job Training - The fundamental skills taught in core training are combined with On-the-Job training based on the incumbent's assignment. Job specific training teaches departmental policies, procedures, systems, and products. Upon completion of MDP, all incumbents attain basic skills necessary to become entry-level professionals and/or managers in their assigned department
Complete tasks in a manner that are compliant with applicable laws and regulations and/or that serve to help the Company be in compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the business line the position supports

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree candidate at a school where M&T Bank recruits MDPs (or an MBA student with no work experience)
Outstanding academic credentials (GPA of 3.0 or better)
Up to 1 years' work experience
