This Health Care Technician I position focuses on providing direct care to developmentally disabled individuals, enhancing their quality of life in a supportive environment.

Provides direct care to developmentally disabled individuals
Care for adults who are medically fragile and have significant intellectual, developmental & physical disabilities
Qualification
Required
High School or General Educational Development diploma
an equivalent combination of education and experience
good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry
successful completion of training through Staff Development department which includes NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting
ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis (6-8 times daily)
ability to stoop, bend, walk, run short distances (50 yards) and climb stairs without limitations of a permanent nature
ability to work rotating, fixed or split shifts, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather
designated as mandatory to report or stay over during adverse weather events
Preferred
A valid Driver's License
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals, staff and others
Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional and even-tempered demeanor and work relationships
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of the team
Ability to learn behavior management and supportive counseling techniques
Demonstrated ability to communicate observations and recommendations effectively in written and verbal form
