The Facilities Engineering Design Structural Engineer I will assist in the design and analysis of building structural systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design and analysis of building structural systems

Prepare and review structural calculations, designs, and drawings

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met

Conduct site visits as required to assess structural conditions and gather data

Stay up-to-date with industry standards, codes, and regulations

Participate in project meetings and contribute to project discussions

Support the preparation of project reports and documentation

Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules and budgets

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering

Successfully passed the Fundamental of Engineering (FE) exam

Understanding of structural design principles and building codes

Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., RISA, STAAD), and underlying theory

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred

Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software

Knowledge of Florida Building Codes and local regulations

Capable of becoming licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in approximately 3-5 years
