Occupational Safety/Environmental Health Specialist Intern
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Occupational Safety/Environmental Health Intern to join their Safety Department at the Applied Research Laboratory. The role involves supporting Environmental Health and Safety Programs, assisting with program management software, and ensuring chemical safety in ARL facilities.

Responsibilities
Provide support to ARL Environmental Health and Safety Programs
Assist with implementation of ARL Safety's program management software
Update Emergency Response Plans, conducting drills and responding to incidents
Ensure chemical safety in ARL facilities through maintenance of Safety Data Sheet database and chemical inventories
Maintain supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and First Aid Supplies and distribute
Proactively promote safety programs through regular e-mail publicity, postings and focused meetings
Respond to ARL employee questions/concerns about environmental health and safety issues
Qualification
Required
Valid driver's license with successful completion of a background and motor vehicle records check
Ability to lift and move containers that may weigh up to 35 pounds
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Programs
Preferred
Conducting inventory, testing, and/or inspections of safety equipment
Conducting data management, entry, and reporting
Researching safety issues and recommending corrective actions
Assisting in the development of safety training
Currently enrolled as a student with The Pennsylvania State University; preferably in a safety-related course of study
Active government security clearance *(Secret)*
