FLORAL DESIGN INSTRUCTOR POOL
Del Mar College is seeking a Floral Design Instructor for their Continuing Education Department. The role involves teaching courses in floral design, developing instructional materials, and evaluating student progress while maintaining a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities
Plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to ensure course content and objectives are met
Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students
Utilize instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction
Maintain daily attendance rosters
Input final student grades into WebDMC
Submit final hard copies of daily attendance rosters and grade sheets to the Continuing Education Department
Introduce students to basic floral design techniques and design methods. Including basic design styles, principles and elements of design, proper care of cut flowers, positioning of skeletal flowers and filler, cutting and wiring stems, and use of various mechanical aids
Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community
Qualification
Required
Three (3) years related work experience
Ability to plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to insure course content and objectives are met
Ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students
Ability to utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction
Knowledge of the Floral Design Profession
Preferred
Two (2) years teaching or training experience
Experience developing lesson plans and curriculum
