Finance Assistant
Gospel Rescue Mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing social services to the homeless and working poor. They are seeking a Finance Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations, manage transactions, maintain records, and assist in compliance efforts while collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities
Maintains full integrity of all revenues, ensuring GRM’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, are followed
Enter A/R payments, A/P invoices, and process vendor checks
Assist in preparing invoices and monitoring outstanding balances
Negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors for favorable conditions
Coordinate buyer and purchasing activities for buying supplies, equipment, or materials
Oversee office supplies for all departments (purchasing)
Assist in the preparation of federal, state and local tax forms and reports
Ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and testing
Develops procedures that ensure collections are complete and current
Assist with audits and provide required documentation
Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
Manage the process of achieving budget goals (expenses), reducing cost overruns in each department
Analyzing price proposals, financial reports, and other relevant information to decide on a purchase
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
Record and report outcomes of GRM financial efforts as outlined in department playbook
Performs other related duties as requested
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Finance experience in non-profit organizations is highly preferred
1–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP)
Working knowledge of financial practices and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient with accounting software and standard office and accounting equipment
Personal integrity, truthfulness and accountability are critical, invaluable and essential characteristics
Maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License and must have a clean driving record
Must be Christian, living a life dedicated to Christ, and be an instrument of God's love, grace, hope, and forgiveness to all
Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Finance experience in non-profit organizations is highly preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
