The Evaluation Branch Chief will lead the Evaluation Branch within the Quality and Population Health Management program, overseeing program evaluations and translating findings into policy recommendations.

Responsibilities

Lead the Evaluation Branch, consisting of two sections each led by a Section Chief: the Program Evaluation Section and the External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) Section

Provide management guidance and scientific leadership in planning and directing program evaluation work and the scientific work of DHCS' EQRO

Lead the translation of program evaluation efforts and EQRO recommendations into DHCS policy change recommendations to improve health equity and the quality of care that Medi-Cal members receive

Minimum Requirements in the Class Specification

RESEARCH SCIENTIST MANAGER (SOCIAL/BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES)

RESEARCH SCIENTIST MANAGER (EPIDEMIOLOGY/BIOSTATISTICS)

Program evaluation and quality review knowledge and experience strongly desired

Ability to work collaboratively and productively with data, program, clinical staff, and executive management
