Supervisory Prosthetic Representative-Prosthetics and Sensory Aids
VA White River Junction Healthcare System is seeking a Supervisory Prosthetic Representative in their Prosthetics and Sensory Aids Service. This full-time position involves overseeing various prosthetic and sensory aids programs, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with VA policies while addressing the needs of veterans.

Responsibilities
Completes a variety of supervisory and non-supervisory prosthetic and sensory aids assignments, projects, activities independently to meet PSASs long-and-short term program goals
Oversees PSAS's contract programs, such as orthotics/prosthetics, home oxygen, durable medical equipment, eyeglasses, and benefit programs, such as home and structural alterations, automobile adaptive equipment, clothing allowance
Serves as a VHA and PSAS representative on local facility committees, workgroups, and teams to address a variety of PSAS's issues, initiatives, and projects
Procures materials, supplies, and equipment for inventory; maintains, controls, and issues inventory; and refers veterans to proper clinical area for evaluation
Prepares and authorizes purchase orders for a wide variety of prosthetic and orthotic devices
Oversees and disapproves approves time and attendance and leave requests; monitors time and attendance for PSAS's staff
Ensures that all requests for hiring, promotions, awards, and disciplinary actions are justified and carried out according to appropriate VA Human Resources policies and procedures
Identifies and selects national CMS/ Health Care Procedural Coding System (HCPCS) codes are entered for every item purchased through and/or billed to ensure proper reporting

Required
U.S. Citizenship
Selective Service Registration for males born after 12/31/1959
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Subject to background/security investigation
Completion of online onboarding process
Pass pre-employment physical examination
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program
Completion of all application requirements detailed in the 'Required Documents' section
One year of creditable experience demonstrating knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology, knowledge of accounting methods, ability to research, analyze, comprehend, and apply decisions, basic knowledge of inventory management procedures, ability to use computer software packages for word processing, spreadsheet development, and database management, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team
A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution AND at least 24 semester hours in course work related to health care, public administration, or business
Equivalent combinations of experience and education are qualifying
Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills, including skill in interpersonal relations and conflict resolution
Ability to perform the full range of supervisory duties
Ability to manage a health care program that provides home medical equipment, rehabilitation services, home oxygen, visual or hearing impairment devices, assistive technology, orthotics, or prosthetics
Skill in coordinating work flow and work assignments
Ability to counsel patients and work effectively with a clinical team to resolve conflict
