Responsibilities
Serve as the first-line supervisor for the staff in the immediate Group and the directors of subordinate divisions, as well as the second-level supervisor for the staff of the DASG divisions
Advise subordinate supervisors on program goals and objectives, and make decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors
Oversee technically complex projects and initiatives designed to address HHS and CMS Strategic Plan goals and objectives related to leveraging data and IT in combating program fraud, waste, and abuse
Manage major multi-year IT initiatives of such magnitude that they must be carried out through multiple related IT projects
Direct project teams to ensure that project management, quality management, performance, risk/issue management are integrated within the program and closely followed
Qualification
Required
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1. Leading teams (e.g., project teams, working group members, subordinate employees) in the design, development, and implementation of information technology (IT) data systems, including assigning tasks to team members and reviewing work; AND 2. Managing multi-year IT initiatives or projects, including coordinating requirements, budgets, schedules, and resources; AND 3. Analyzing IT data systems to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate risks; AND 4. Advising stakeholders on issues with IT data systems and providing recommendations to mitigate vulnerabilities
In addition to the qualifications listed above, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem-Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations
