3+ years expAvantech Law is a next-generation IP litigation boutique focused on high-stakes advocacy. They are seeking exceptional litigators who will take on real courtroom experience and play a substantive role in both the courtroom and the firm’s future.
Responsibilities
Analyze patents and patent office correspondence
Conduct patent infringement, validity, and damages analysis
Perform legal research and prepare legal memoranda
Assist with drafting and revising pleadings, written discovery, and briefs
Work closely with experts to develop technical understanding and support preparation of reports
Review technical documents to support litigation strategy and case development
Attend and support key litigation events, such as hearings and trials
Take and defend fact and expert depositions
Providing additional support and strategic input on all aspects of client matters
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years of patent litigation experience
Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills
J.D. from a leading, accredited university and a strong academic record
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly understand complex science and technology, identify knowledge gaps, and offer practical solutions
Ability to distill and explain complex concepts and litigation strategies in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments
Superior interpersonal skills needed to thrive in a collaborative and distributed (remote) work environment
High energy, competitive drive, and a strong desire to excel and grow
Authorized to practice law in the United States with no current or future requirement of sponsorship for employment visa status
