Electrical Engineer II/III - Renewable Energy
Timmons Group is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer II/III - Renewable Energy to join their Renewable Energy Department. The role involves performing electrical designs for power generation and renewable energy projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project managers in the design and execution of these projects.

Responsibilities
Perform electrical designs of projects from conception thru design completion including collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, communication systems design, cable routing, grounding design, equipment selection and specs
Modify and review electrical drawings
Perform cable ampacity and trench design using software packages like CYMCAP, ETAP or AmpCalc
Modeling of electrical systems using software packages like ETAP or SKM for generation of electrical reports including short circuit analysis, reactive power and load flow analysis, and arc flash hazard analysis
Modeling of grounding system design using software packages including CDEGs and WinIGS
Support Project Managers or other staff on design of power generation projects and design of renewable energy projects
Design electrical components for projects needs and requirements as set forth by Project Managers
Apply strong knowledge of electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes and procedures using common electrical industry standards
Support Project Managers or other staff on power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades
Works under the supervision of Project Managers or other staff for assigned projects to produce electrical engineering designs
Provides input to senior engineering staff on design issues based on the results of calculations or engineering solutions
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities
Participates in the creation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work
Participates in budget development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program
Ideal candidates will have six (6) years or more of professional electrical experience
Five (5) years or more years of relay coordination and schematic design experience
Five (5) years or more of detailed design engineering experience and/or owners engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is preferred
Engineer in Training Certification / Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred
ETAP or SKM software experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and accountable for assigned responsibilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
Preferred
Five (5) years or more of detailed design engineering experience and/or owners engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is preferred
Engineer in Training Certification / Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred
Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus
