Responsibilities

Guide and mentor less experienced engineers through successful project execution
Partner with design engineering to coordinate the release of new products into the Paint department
Accurately forecast and track project budgets, maintain financial alignment, and clearly communicate status to leadership
Execute major paint-related engineering projects on time and within budget to improve safety, ergonomics, cost, quality, delivery, and employee experience
Review new product designs and protect the plant from paint processes that cannot be executed efficiently or consistently
Support daily production by implementing engineering solutions that measurably improve safety, cost, quality, delivery, and operator experience
Develop detailed project plans, prioritize tasks with leadership, track progress, and communicate results clearly
Create, update, and document plant processes—including pFMEAs, Control Plans, and reaction plans—to strengthen quality and process stability
Spend extensive time on the paint production floor collaborating directly with represented employees to identify and solve paint-related issues

Required

Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of product manufacturing experience
Master's degree and at least 2 years of product manufacturing experience
At least 6 years of product manufacturing experience
Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Preferred

Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
Experience with 2D AutoCAD and 3D CAD software; Teamcenter NX experience is a plus
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to leadership
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience collecting and interpreting paint process data, including film build, PELT gauges, wave-scan tools, and data packs
Demonstrated ability to improve safety, ergonomics, cost, and quality in a manufacturing environment
Proven ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels
Experience in automotive or similar industries with an emphasis on paint systems
Experience with robotic paint programming (Fanuc), mixing equipment (Graco), mixing ratios, solvents, and paint ovens
