Blockchain Investigator (Forensic Accountant)
NAXO is a blockchain investigations and digital forensics firm trusted by top law firms, corporations, and law enforcement agencies for their most technically complex cases. They are seeking a forensic accountant with experience tracing crypto assets who is comfortable serving as an expert witness in support of litigation.

Responsibilities
Conduct cryptocurrency investigations, including tracing blockchain transactions
Analyze blockchain data to identify patterns and anomalies
Define and rely on industry-accepted accounting methods in support of tracing efforts
Create reports and other materials to summarize findings and support investigative efforts
Serve as an expert witness in support of litigation, including providing deposition or courtroom testimony
Collaborate with other members of the investigative team to support ongoing investigations
Develop client relationships by leveraging existing contacts, attending conferences, and/or publishing relevant articles
Qualification
Required
Professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, ACA) or equivalent experience in forensic accounting and valuations
Experience conducting investigations involving digital assets
Deep understanding of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, including knowledge of various blockchain networks, cryptocurrencies, and exchanges
Hands-on experience using COTS tools, such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, and/or TRM Labs, to conduct cryptocurrency investigations
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred
One or more advanced certifications related to cryptocurrency investigations, such as Chainalysis Investigative Specialist Certification or TRM Advanced Crypto Investigator
Experience serving as an expert witness in litigation
Former law enforcement experience
Basic proficiency with a programming or scripting language (Python and/or Powershell preferred)
