Assistant Utility Manager
NEOGOV is seeking an Assistant Utility Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Water and Wastewater departments. This supervisory role involves significant administrative responsibilities, including staff management, program implementation, and emergency response.

Responsibilities
Coordinate, plan. direct, supervise and review the daily operations and activities of water, wastewater and customer service staff
Complete and maintain a variety of records and reports including time and materials records and work order and asset management system
Supervise, train, instruct and motivate employees in the department
Represent the department in resolution of citizen inquiries and complaints and suggest corrective actions and process and resolve employee grievances
Review and advise staff at various phases of work and give specific directions as needed
Evaluate staff performance and preparation of performance evaluation reports
Monitor and evaluate project work progress, process and quality and assure continuous support and follow up
Coordinate, schedule and plan staffing levels, equipment and supplies to complete designated tasks and within established budget parameters
Assign, review and evaluate the work of staff for accuracy, suitability and completeness
Keep informed of current trends and technology in areas of responsibility
Provide oversight and evaluation of contractor's work and verify work performed and billing forepayment of work performed
Coordinates projects with other departments, agencies, teams, consultants, developers
Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for the water and wastewater systems
Assist in the development of Capital Improvement Program projects
Exhibits and practices support for management decisions
Exhibit a personal commitment to creating and sustaining a pleasant, cooperative and productive work environment
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university or any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities to perform the aforementioned duties
Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Possession of or ability to readily obtain an appropriate state-certified license for wastewater Treatment or Collection system operation and/or water distribution or treatment as appropriate
