Library Technician NF-02
USAJOBS is seeking a Library Technician for the Chievres Air Base Library. The role involves providing technician support by performing a variety of direct services to the public, including registering patrons, managing library materials, and assisting with technical services support.

Responsibilities
Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public
Registers patrons, charges/discharges materials, processes overdue and reserves, assists with interlibrary loans and reserves, shelves library materials, prepares displays, programs activities, answers basic reference questions
Provides technical services support in a variety of functions: basic/copy cataloging, ordering/receiving/processing and de-acquisitioning of library materials
Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories. Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems
Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals
Qualification
Required
One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade OR
Two years of education above high school OR
A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements
College or university transcript(s)(copy or original) must be submitted with your resume to determine qualifications for positions with positive education requirements
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. This includes childcare checks
A one-year probationary period may be required
Must be willing and able to work weekends and/or holidays
