The role involves managing geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services for various infrastructure projects, mentoring junior staff, and developing business opportunities.

Responsibilities

Provide and manage geotechnical engineering and CMT services, including investigations, analysis, engineering evaluation, recommendations, reports, etc. on commercial, institutional, industrial and public works infrastructure projects
Service external clients as well as internal clients with other divisions working on multi-discipline engineering projects
Oversee construction inspection and materials testing (CMT) projects
Independently develop engineering proposals and reports as well as perform quality reviews of proposals and reports developed by other staff
Develop and maintain business
Mentor and supervise junior staff

Required

Strong technical base in geotechnical engineering
Honesty, integrity, dependable and punctual
Ability to help mentor and develop staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work individually as well as part of a team
Strong technical base in construction oversight
Ability to help bring in new business/clients as well as maintain existing clients

Preferred

Experience with deep foundations and SOE designs
Experience with geotechnical techniques such as ground improvement, rigid inclusions, helical piles, deep dynamic compaction, chemical and cement grouting
Experience with geophysical investigation methods (GPR, EM, Seismic, Resistivity)
