Responsibilities

Lead and grow the Digital Engineering organization responsible for mobile, web, internal applications, kiosks and more

Define and execute a forward-looking engineering strategy with a strong focus on AI-driven, personalized patient and employee experiences

Partner with Digital Product to manage and execute on the digital roadmap

Oversee sustainment and new development of the PineApp, used by the majority of BHSF patients for scheduling, records, communications, virtual visits, and self-service tools

Lead engineering for internal and operational applications that improve clinical workflows, communication, and business efficiency

Own the development and modernization of kiosk and other digital experiences across facilities

Oversee enterprise web engineering and integration work to ensure consistently high performance, accessibility, and reliability

Drive the adoption of AI/ML across digital products—including conversational agents, decision-support workflows, personalization engines, and next-generation patient enablement tools

Work closely with Data Science, AI Engineering, and Product teams to design, implement, and scale agentic AI workflows, LLM-driven features, and intelligent automation

Ensure all AI-enabled features meet safety, regulatory, ethical, and cybersecurity standards

Lead engineering efforts related to EMR integration, interoperability, data pipelines, and clinical interfaces

Act as a senior engineering partner in Epic conversion activities, bringing expertise in digital ecosystem readiness

Build and mentor high-performing engineering teams, establishing a culture of ownership, partnership, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement

Partner with Digital Product and UX/UI to ensure commitments are delivered on time, within scope, and with exceptional quality

Build and foster effective relationships with operational partners to ensure enhanced quality of delivered products, and smooth digital adoption

Manage vendors, SOWs, budgets, and engineering governance

Represent engineering in executive updates, steering committees, and strategic planning

Required

Bachelors

10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, with at least 5 years leading engineering teams

Proven success leading engineering for high-traffic mobile and/or web applications at enterprise scale

Demonstrated experience implementing AI/ML solutions, including LLMs, generative AI, and agentic AI workflows in production

Strong knowledge of cloud environments (Azure preferred), modern application architecture, API development, microservices, and DevSecOps

Healthcare system experience

Expertise in EMR integration and data interoperability

Experience partnering in or leading portions of Epic implementations or conversions

Ability to translate business needs into technical strategy with clarity and influence at the executive level

Experience with mobile app development ecosystems (iOS, Android, hybrid frameworks)

Background in kiosk or digital front door technologies

Understanding of digital product management, UX/UI design collaboration, and human-centered design

Experience with vendor management and large multi-year program delivery

Preferred

Master's degree in computer science or related field preferred
