Responsibilities

Supervise the work of assigned staff

Assist in settling conflicts with builders concerning code interpretation or requirements

Qualification

Required

Three (3) years of experience as a Building Inspector, performing journey-level building inspections for a public agency in California, with responsibility for conducting inspections to ensure compliance with building codes, ordinances and regulations and the authority to issue notices of correction and violation; AND one (1) year of lead/supervisory experience as a Building Inspector (may be concurrent)

Current possession of International Code Council (ICC) Certification as a Residential or Commercial Inspector, Certified Building Official, or Certified Plan Examiner. Required Certificates should be clearly listed in the Certification/License section of the applications

A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position
