Senior Training Specialist

Valley Bank is seeking a Senior Training Specialist to collaborate with the Director of Learning and Development and internal business groups. The role focuses on assessing training needs, developing training materials, and delivering engaging training programs to enhance individual and organizational performance.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the development, management, delivery, effectiveness and evaluation of all assigned training programs and offerings
Ensures that programs are consistent, and that appropriate accountability exists
Design, develop, deliver and evaluate in person and online learning programs. Programs may be traditional - e-learning courses, zoom or webinars (live or recorded), video shorts, gamified learning - other online learning mechanisms
Collaborate both face to face with other members of the Learning and Development team to ensure business objectives are met through effective learning solutions
Work in partnership with subject matter experts to ensure training aligns with goals, policies/procedures of the organization and the criteria of curriculum design and evaluation
Design and implement strategy to optimize knowledge in support of meeting and exceeding operational and internal goals and metrics
Perform all duties required for e-learning content launch, including course upload, testing, user assignment and notification, and LMS administration
Evaluate the effectiveness of current and future training and communication offerings and make recommendations for improvement
Display consistent self-development and awareness of industry trends through research, meetings and self-learning to enhance personal and departmental learning and development. Explore cutting edge technologies or software to enhance course offerings or delivery mechanisms to learners
Ensures the integrity, consistency and quality of the work of trainees through advocating for processes and decisions, management feedback and driving new procedures and ideas
Comply with all regulations pertaining to BSA, USA PATRIOT ACT, and OFAC. Complete annual BSA training. Report suspicions of criminal activity, or any attempt to avoid BSA reporting requirements on the part of customers or employees, to the AML/BSA Compliance Department. For supervisory positions, ensure BSA training requirements are completed by staff
Leads medium to large size projects as assigned
Handles other duties as assigned by management

Required

Experience in developing, managing, delivering, and evaluating training programs
Ability to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate in-person and online learning programs
Experience with traditional and e-learning courses, webinars, and other online learning mechanisms
Strong collaboration skills to work with other members of the Learning and Development team
Ability to work in partnership with subject matter experts to align training with organizational goals
Experience in designing and implementing strategies to optimize knowledge and meet operational goals
Familiarity with e-learning content launch processes, including course upload, testing, user assignment, and LMS administration
Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of training and communication offerings and make recommendations for improvement
Commitment to self-development and awareness of industry trends
Ability to advocate for processes and decisions to ensure the integrity and quality of training
