Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineers, process engineers, and technicians
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
Develop and refine manufacturing processes for complex mechanical and glass-based assemblies
Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and PPI/DBS methodologies to improve yield, reduce scrap, and enhance efficiency
Drive automation and smart manufacturing initiatives
Partner with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Production teams to align engineering solutions with business goals
Support new product introductions and scale-up activities
Ensure adherence to FDA, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and GMP standards
Champion safety initiatives and ergonomic improvements across production lines
Analyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement
Develop and implement robust process controls, documentation, and validation protocols
Recommend, initiate, and manage capital projects to enhance manufacturing capabilities
Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve safety, quality, and throughput
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership role
Hands-on experience with mechanical and glass fabrication processes
Strong understanding of machining, assembly, and inspection of precision components
Experience in life science, medical device, pharmaceutical, or analytical instrumentation manufacturing
Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and other process improvement methodologies
Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Experience with automated manufacturing systems and robotics
Familiarity with ERP (e.g., SAP) and MES systems
Knowledge of FDA, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and GMP regulatory frameworks
Certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt, or CQE
