Principal Electrical Engineer, Robotics
Imperative Care is focused on developing novel robotic-assisted technologies for stroke treatment. The Principal Electrical Engineer will lead the electrical architecture of robotic systems, overseeing design, testing, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Define and lead the electrical architecture of the robotic system
Establish electronics architectures from board to system level for complex electromechanical devices
Design mixed/analog, power electronics, and digital circuit design and layout of simple to sophisticated printed circuit boards and development of the required design documentation
Oversee board bring-up validation, testing, and debugging of newly designed electrical hardware
Advise on requirement definition, design reviews and design FMEA
Ensure hardware testing follows IEC medical safety, EMC safety standards such as IEC60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, and EMC compliance in a regulated environment (UL, TUV, FDA)
Establish specifications, system protocols, test protocols for design verification activities and compliance testing in a regulated environment (UL, TUV, FDA)
Lead cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical, software, clinical and systems) to meet project goals and timelines
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline, and a minimum of 12 years of experience leading and executing design and development of complex electrical systems from feasibility through to production, from board to system level; or equivalent combination of education and work experience in the medical device or related regulated industry
Subject matter expertise with board level printed circuit design, including schematic design, PCB design in both analog/mixed signal/power electronic and digital domains
Strong proficiency with lab test equipment like multi meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
Deep knowledge when troubleshooting sophisticated systems to include circuit issues, EMI/EMC/ESD mitigation
Demonstrated experience of design, test and solving for medical safety and IEC EMC standards, such as IEC60601-1, IEC60601-1-2, IEC61000-4-6 or equivalent, for complex medical systems
Proven track record providing technical direction, guidance, and expertise to technical teams
SME in technical/design leadership and management of complex projects including management of external contractors, partners, and suppliers
Superior verbal/written communication and presentation skills with ability to influence internal/external partners and engineering leaders, regardless of reporting structure
Excellent problem-solving skills in company-wide complex related matters
